Keith Haring is an American artist who was born on May 4, 1958 in Reading, Pennsylvania, and was raised in nearby Kutztown. He developed a love for drawing at a very early age, learning basic cartooning skills from his father and from the popular culture around him, such as Dr. Seuss and Walt Disney. He is best known for his graffiti-inspired drawings, which he first made in subway stations in America and later exhibited in museums. He used simple, familiar shapes and bright, artificial colours to capture the attention of the public.

Library

We have a shared library which has many interesting books. Children are encouraged to use it.

PE

Physical Education takes place twice a week. It is very important that PE kits are kept in school at all times. Please mark each item clearly – that includes plimsolls, as it can quite difficult for your child to find them when they are all changing at once.

School Trips

We have three school trips a year, one each term.

More information about what your child is learning in school can be found on the curriculum map
