Pablo Picasso 1881-1973 was a  painter, sculptor, ceramist and designer, who has had enormous influence on 20th century art and worked in an unprecedented variety of styles. Born at Malaga, Spain, son of an art teacher. Pablo Picasso is one of the most famous artists of the twentieth-century.
Even as a child he was better at drawing than many adults. He could draw and paint just about anything, and in any style. He liked to experiment and try out new because the world is always changing. Picasso helped us see the world in new ways

Homework

Free reading from the classroom library.

Spelling words – Picasso Class will receive spellings on a: Friday

Shine Class will receive spellings on a: Wednesday

Spelling homework books-

This will support the children with learning their spelling words. Following on from the spelling rule taught in class, the children will be expected to write sentences containing the spelling words. This will be marked in class on the children’s spelling day.

Reading is also very important. We encourage children to read with an adult to increase their comprehension.

Library

We have a shared library which has many interesting books. Children are encouraged to use it.

PE

Physical Education takes place twice a week. It is very important that PE kits are kept in school at all times. Please mark each item clearly – that’s includes plimsolls as it can quite difficult for your child to find them when they are all changing at once.

School Trips

In the Autumn term children will be treated to a trip to the theatre.

In the summer, after Sats, year 6 will enjoy Activity Week.

More information about what your child is learning in school can be found on the curriculum map
