Charles Close was an American painter, visual artist, and photographer who made massive-scale photorealist and abstract portraits of himself and others. Miss Batley chose Chuck Close as her class artist as she loved the way each of his masterpieces were made up of small patterns and shapes that fit together much like a jigsaw puzzle. Miss Batley saw an opportunity to create a piece of collaborative artwork with each child in the class contributing a small piece of art which, when combined with others made one large masterpiece. Miss Batley loves the patterns and colours that Chuck Close uses and thought that her year six class would have fun experimenting with shape, colour and line in their art.

Homework
 
Children will be given a list of Spellings every Monday which need to be learnt for the following Monday.

Reading is also very important. We encourage children to read with an adult as often as possible. Please sign the reading record when you read with your child/children.

Library
 
We have an exciting bus library with many interesting books. Children will visit once a week and will be encouraged to borrow books.
 
PE
 
Physical Education takes place twice a week. It is very important that PE kits are kept in school at all times. Please mark each item clearly - that includes plimsolls as it can quite difficult for your child to find them when they are all changing at once.
